AZ Power Basketball

Jacob has been part of a great group of boys to play team sports together.  It all started with the very first time we signed him up for flag football.  We got put on this team with some good kids from Power ranch.  Most of those kids have stayed together to play multiple seasons of flag and this is their second time playing basketball together.  All but two of the boys are in second grade and we were planning to play in a 2nd/3rd grade league that didn't get enough teams so we decided to play in the WHAM league like last year.  Because we had third graders, we had to play up a level.  Let me tell you, these boys did great and I think they had a pretty good time as well. 

Jacob improved so much as a basketball player this year.  He has a hard time dribbling because he is so tall, but he worked a ton at it this year and has gotten better.  His most improved area was being aggressive.  At the beginning of the season, Jacob never got involved in jump balls and he never got in people's face, but by the end of the year he was involved in most of the jump balls.  He was great at passing the ball in and although he only scored one basket, we won games with his defensive skills and rebounds.  We are excited to see how well he does as he grows into this long/tall body.
