Nate Turns 5

This little guy turned five!! He was so excited for his birthday.  It is hard to believe that he is five already.  It has gone by fast and I have so enjoyed him for the last couple of years.  Lisa was nice enough to pick up this shirt for Nathan when they went to Disneyland.  He was so obsessed with the California Screamin ride that he really wanted a t-shirt from it.  Of course, that was after we got home from our trip.  But I think he has worn it for a couple of days straight because he was so excited about it.

He does have arms by the way!

Nathan's party was after his preschool class.  A few kids from his class and a few friends from playgroup came over and had lunch and then the party!

Opening Presents

We tried to play a few games for this party and it just wasn't working, so I let the kids go down to the park and they just ran around and had a great time.  Don't know why I even planned games.  I love this group of friends that Nathan has.  They are all such cute little boys.  They will have so much fun going to school together.

We ended the party with a piñata!  Nathan was so excited about this.  He even picked it out at the store.

The big boys had a half day the day of the party so they came home and got to hit the piñata too.  They were just as excited.

I love seeing this picture of Jacob smiling so big as he was the one who broke the piñata.

No party is complete without the birthday cake.  And yes, he is holding a sucker as he blew out his cake.  Nothing like 9 kids all hyped up on sugar!

We sure do love our Nathan!  He is our funny boy.  He is always saying clever things.  Not long ago, Luke was talking or whining in the car and Nathan turned back to him and said, "Luke, all I hear coming out of your mouth is blah, blah, blah.
He doesn't really love to watch tv and he is still willing to sit and play games with me.  We play Monopoly Empire and Uno almost everyday after preschool.  He does like to play games on the Wii.  Mostly sword fighting.  He is so good about going to preschool and playgroups, but if somebody asks if he can come over and play just out of the blue, he prefers to stay at home.  He loves bugging his brother and definitely fills the little brother role quite well.
He has a great memory and loves to read books to us at night.  His favorite book to read is Old Hat, New Hat.  He has the entire thing memorized.  He also enjoys the Tooth Book and the Nose Book as well as If You Take a Mouse series.
He is so excited to go to Kindergarten and be in school like his brothers.
Happy Birthday Nathan!  We sure do love you and are so happy you are in our family!
