We rang in the New Year at a friends house in the neighborhood. The Opfels hosted a party so we got all the family together and headed out. The adults visited while the kids played. Luke wasn't feeling so great because he had just gotten tubes in his ears and his adenoids out the day before so Todd took him and Kate home. Nathan, Jacob and I stayed for fireworks. We had a pretty scary one that fell over and shot to the side. Luckily nobody was in its path and no one was hurt. After that everything was very calm. They even had some cool fireworks that shot off in the sky.
By about 10, both Nathan and Jacob were asking to head home, so we went home. By 10:30 every kid in our house besides Kate was crying to just go to bed. We were all to happy to put them to sleep and I don't even know if Todd and I made it to midnight. 2013 was such a great year for us. We had some wonderful things happen to us as well as some trials, but we made it through and are excited for what 2014 will bring.
