We blessed Kate last Sunday on the 27th of October. We were so excited to have all the family come and see her for her special day. Before Kate was even born (actually before I knew she was a girl) I had a blessing dress picked out just in case. The problem with the dress was that is was over $300 and I really didn't see how we could spend that much on a blessing dress. Lucky for me, I have a super talented mother-in-law and she was happy to make a dress for Kate. I love how it turned out. Everytime I look at it, I love it more. I had it downstairs on the hanger all last week and everytime I walked by it, I just had to smile because I loved it so much and was so excited to put her in her dress and see her blessed.
Bonnie really outdid herself on this dress. I showed her a picture of the dress I was looking at and she said she thought she could make it even cuter. The dress became a labor of love for her. She used pieces from her wedding dress and veil to make it extra special.
Yes we have early morning church and it is still dark while we are getting ready. Unfortunately for us, it was the only time Kate was happy all day, so these are the best pictures we were able to get of her. I will be taking some pictures this week though.

We had the blessing on a non fast Sunday so Mor Mor and Far Far could come and see Kate be blessed. They had other great-grandchildren being baptized the first weekend in November. We were happy to change the date so that they could be here.
After sacrament meeting, we had everyone over for brunch. I had spent the week before baking all kinds of muffins. We had banana nut, raspberry, blueberry, caramel apple, pancake, and coffee cake muffins (all thanks to pinterest) and the crockpot southwestern omelet. Everything was delicious.
We tried to snap some pictures but Kate was just too tired. She just screamed the entire time.
Finally asleep and comfortable.
Even though the day was exhausting (we went to bed after 11 and were up at 6), we felt so blessed to have our family come and share in Kate's special day. Kate's blessing circle was so big. There was barely room for all the men. Her dad gave her a short sweet blessing and surprisingly, she didn't scream. Todd blessed her that she would be healthy, and realize the importance of family. He blessed her that she would be able to recognize the spirit and that she would seek the Savior throughout her life.
I echo this blessing. I sure do love this little girl. I know that as she grows we will be fast friends and have such a special relationship. I always felt like I was a little deprived. I didn't have any sisters and I didn't think I would have a daughter. I had a feeling that Kate would be a girl when we got pregnant but I figured that would be just wishful thinking. I am so greatful to Heavenly Father for sending our family this sweet little girl. All of us love her. I hope that she will be able to realize the love that we have for her as well as the love that our Heavenly Father and Jesus have for her. We are very blessed.
Kate's blessing circle included: Todd, Tyler, Justin, Chase, Dennis, Ivan, Bob, Jim, John, Jeff, Dustin and Brock
People who came to see Kate blessed: Uncle Jim, Bradley, Steven, Mackenzie, Uncle Bub and Aunt Christina, Brock, Lisa, Uncle John, Aunt Shawna, Haylie, Hunter, Hannah, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Kari, Tanner, Baylee, Dallen, Brady, Uncle Dustin, Aunt Andrea, Jared, Natalie, Kyle, Emma, Chase, Grandma Nelson and Grandpa Bob, Lisa McKeown, Brock Mckeown, Blake, Macey and Dillan
Uncle Tyler, Aunt Bekah, Ruby, Noah, Uncle Justin and June (Lyvi had her primary program so she and Sarah and Claire stayed home to prepare for that), Uncle Chase, Aunt Lauren, Audrey, Grandma and Grandpa Danielson and Mor Mor and Far Far
We are truly greatful for this wonderful family we have on this earth. We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive family. Thanks to those who traveled and came and made it such a great day. This life is really all about family and I sure do love mine.

I have looked at the pictures MANY times on my ipad but I can not get the text for some dumb reason. I just read it, I loved your post about Kates blessing. What a special day that was. We are so blessed to have her in our family and for her to have such a great mom and dad and brothers. She is a dream come true.
